MR. RAYMOND L. (BUDDY) BARNES, age 73, of Jamestown Road, Menlo, Georgia, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 13, 2020, in a Rome hospital. He was born in Summerville, Georgia on May 3, 1947, a son of the late Raymond Wood Barnes and Otha Mae Boyd Barnes. Mr. Barnes was a member and Deacon of Chesterfield Baptist Church, and a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Germany during the View Nam conflict. In addition to Parents, He was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law the late Roy Cavin and Frances Cavin.
Surviving are His wife, Katie Cavin Barnes; daughter, Becky Barnes; son, Jeff (Chris) Barnes; grandson, Jaden Barnes; step grandchildren, Brian Wimbley and Alex Wimbley; brother, Ralph (June) Barnes; several Brothers-in Law and Sisters-in-Law, Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Private Funeral and Interment service will be held Sunday, at Graveside in Ami Cemetery, with Rev. Steve Bishop and Rev. Dewey Blalock officiating. Active Pallbearers Gene Gazaway, Rodney Wooton, Jamie Cavin, Jason Jarrett, Charles- Dykes, Thomas Flood, and David Hall; Honorary Pallbearers Earl Bramlett, Carlton “Sonny” Reynolds, Tommy Turkett, Leo Bridges, Buddy Gentry, Buck Leath. Flowers are appreciated or contributions may be made to the Chesterfield Baptist Church Building Fund.
