DONALD MINOR CHANDLER, age 92, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020, at his residence. Born in Trion, Georgia on November 4, 1927, a son of the late John Herbert and Mattie Lee Alexander Chandler. Mr. Chandler was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church and the Seekers Sunday Class of the Church. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in WW II and was retired from the Dyeing Department of Mount Vernon Mills. He was preceded by his wives, the late Doris Posey Chandler in 1977 and the late Winnie Lee Ledford Chandler in 2016, and siblings the late Leland Chandler, Beth Chandler Hall, and Bruce Chandler.
Surviving are children, Laura (Sally) & Jeff Gamble of Armuchee, Susan & Randy Thompson of Canton, and Gary & Kathy Floyd of Cartersville; grandchildren, Melissa Thompson-Riddle, Meredith Thompson Carter, Jarrod Slaton Floyd, Jamie Kristen Woodward Brown, Anna Elaine Floyd; Ten Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 1st, at 1:00 P.M. From Graveside in West Hill Cemetery with Mr. Jim Parker and Pastor Sean Wegner officiating. Active Pallbearers Butch Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, Jarrod Floyd, David Riddle, Jonathan Carter, Nathan Carter, Bryson Shelton, and Kade Shelton. Honorary Pallbearer, Jimmy Ray Posey. Remembrances in the form of flowers or donations to the Summerville First Baptist Church or Gideons International are appreciated.
