NYC WOMAN BEATEN TO DEATH With Broom, Nephew Charged With Murder

A 55-year-old lady in New York City was reportedly beaten to death with a broom, authorities said.

According to the Staten Island Advance, Patch, and WPIX, the victim is the suspect’s aunt.

According to police, the alleged incident occurred on the morning of Tuesday, August 20, while victim Juanita Dallas was having a verbal argument with Alexander Fleming, 29.

Officers arrived at the Queen’s residence at 10:30 a.m. after receiving a call reporting an assault in progress, according to the statement. Police say Fleming smacked Dallas in the head with the broom. The victim was subsequently transported to North Shore University Hospital, where she was eventually pronounced dead.

Later that evening, Fleming was arrested and charged with murder, assault with intent to inflict serious harm with a weapon, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the statement.

It is unclear whether he has hired an attorney or filed a plea to the accusations against him.
According to Dallas’ Facebook page, she was born in Queens and attended Hillcrest High School there.
The inquiry is underway.
