MOTORCYCLIST DIES AFTER SUV COLLISION in Jacksonville Neighborhood, Investigation Ongoing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – At around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office received a report of a tragic accident that occurred in a community located off of Kernan Boulevard South.

According to the JSO, the motorcycle was heading in an easterly direction on Mathew Unger Drive, while the SUV was heading in the other direction on the same route.

JSO stated that the motorcycle and the SUV were involved in a collision as the SUV attempted to make a left turn onto Casheros Cove in front of the motorcyclist. The rider was compelled to land in the backyard of a neighbor.

He was sent to the hospital, where it was determined that he had passed away.

Currently, the woman who was driving the SUV, who is sixty years old, is working with the police. Sgt. Hungerford of the JSO has stated that it is too soon to determine whether or not charges will be brought in connection with this case.

On Friday evening, both routes were prohibited from traffic in any direction.
