A woman from Michigan has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a baby who was as young as four months old and whom she was caring for.
Following the death of Renzi McCall in Reed City, Michigan, Savannah Marie Miller was charged with murder, as reported by Fox 17, WZZM, and Cadillac News. McCall was found dead under suspicious circumstances.
There is a lack of clarity on whether or not Miller has filed a plea or found legal representation.
Miller was initially charged with child abuse, but the charge was upgraded to murder on July 25, four days after the infant was rushed to the hospital. This occurred when the baby was taken off life support. According to Fox 17, Miller was initially charged with child abuse.
It was stated by WZZM that Miller is the girlfriend of the baby’s mother. The source of this information was Renzi’s grandfather, Jeremiah White.
White disclosed to the media source that the infant’s entire body was covered in bruises, and that she had experienced seizures and swelling of the brain before her passing.
As reported by Cadillac News, Miller is suspected of beating the infant while her mother was at work. The allegations are based on statements made by police and prosecutors.
