On Monday, an expensive McLaren sports vehicle split in half, killing the driver and passenger after colliding with a sedan and crashing into a tree in Texas.
According to police, the incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Abrams Road and Royal Lane in Dallas’ Lake Highlands neighborhood. The two people who perished in the black automobile were Cristobal Flores Espino, 29, and Robert Leroy Rocha, 31.
A woman driving the gold Toyota sedan was brought to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, according to Fox 4 and authorities.
It’s unclear what caused the first collision between the Toyota and the McLaren, which appears to be a 570S Coupé variant capable of reaching speeds of over 200 mph. The crash occurred around 10 miles north of downtown Dallas.
The McLaren was dramatically split in half, according to video and photographs from the terrible incident. The car’s crushed front end is wrapped around a tree, while the back half is roughly 30 feet distant on the road.

The Toyota also appeared to have hit a tree, with its hood similarly battered.
Police and detectives were on the site collecting evidence. They said the inquiry is ongoing. The 570S Coupé variants are powered by 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engines.
McLaren Automotive of the United Kingdom designed and constructed them between 2015 and 2021. Some old models sell for more than $170,000 on CarGurus.com.
