Thomas Boykin, 53 years old, of Mansfield, has entered a guilty plea to the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury, according to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office as reported by the media. A jury has decided that he should spend the rest of his life behind bars.

On the 16th of May, 2023, Boykin shot his son, who was 13 years old at the time, while the kid was sleeping in his bed. He also shot his stepdaughter, who was 21 years old, while she was pleading with him not to fire. Additionally, Boykin was aggressive toward his wife physically.

On the other hand, the stepdaughter was struck twice by a gunshot, while the son was shot three times. Both patients were taken to the operating room for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

As Boykin’s son reflected on the evening of the shooting, he stated, “I thought I was going to die.” “After what he did to me, I can’t imagine ever missing him.”

This investigation was carried out by the Mansfield Police Department, and Allenna Bangs and Chris Dewitt were the attorneys who brought the matter to court.
