MORRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man from East Texas was apprehended after police said they found a plan to kidnap and kill someone else.
The plan was found last week, according to the Morris County Sheriff’s Office. During their investigations, they found “solid probable cause” to get an arrest warrant and a search order.
Mark Anthony Johnson, 49, of Naples was arrested on Monday, and police said they found goods and materials on his property that were meant to be used for
Use to take someone hostage
Torture and killing, with deadly tools
An enormous amount of chemicals and other things “to destroy evidence of the crime”
Johnson was charged with planning to kill someone with a lethal weapon and is being held on a $1 million bond.
Authorities in Morris County, Texas, say they are grateful to the Texas Rangers and their investigators for their hard work and dedication in capturing Johnson before anyone got hurt. Sheriff Jack Martin said this in a press statement. “They should be proud that they caught him without hurting anyone.”
