On Monday, a guy who is 34 years old was charged with the murder of two men whose cremated remains were discovered in two suitcases in the southwest region of England.

According to the Metropolitan Police in London, Yostin Andres Mosquera has been charged with the murder of Paul Longworth, who was 71 years old, and Albert Alfonso, who was 61 years old. Later on Monday, he is scheduled to make an appearance at a court in London.

The suspect had been staying with the victims at their apartment in west London, according to the police, who stated that the victims had previously been in a relationship and continued to live together.

It was stated by Deputy Assistant Commissioner Andy Valentine that “the evidence gathered so far does not suggest there was a homophobic motive” for the deaths. However, according to him, the officers conducted themselves per national norms and initially classified the incident as a hate crime.

“I hope it will be of some reassurance that whilst inquiries are still ongoing and the investigation is at a relatively early stage, we are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the two murders,” Valentine stated in his statement.
