Man Arrested for JUVENILE TRAFFICKING and SEXUAL ABUSE in Springfield Township

The Springfield Township Police Department reports that a man has been arrested on accusations of trafficking juveniles and sexual abuse of children.

Tyler Degiacomo, 33, has been charged with trafficking minors, making unlawful contact with a minor, sexually abusing children, possessing child pornography, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, minor corruption, criminal use of a communication facility, indecent assault, and furnishing alcohol to minors. Degiacomo is facing these counts for allegedly trafficking and sexually abusing four juveniles in Pennsylvania and Alabama, officials said.

In March 2024, a concerned parent reported to authorities that she discovered child sexual abuse material on her daughter’s phone that had been texted to a man in his 30s named “Tyler”.

Investigators identified the man as Degiacomo of Oreland, a longtime substitute teacher and volunteer for the Springfield Township School District, as well as a PIAA umpire and baseball coach.

Four victims were identified following multiple search warrants and digital forensic examinations of electronic devices. Officials claimed two of the victims were from Montgomery County, one from Clarion County, and the fourth was from Houston County, Alabama.

Degiacomo contacted each claimed victim over the social media applications TikTok, Snapchat, or both. Springfield Township Police Detectives are looking for help identifying any additional victims in this case. Degiacomo was arraigned, and his bail was set at $500,000. He was sent to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
