Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of 15-year-old Burkburnett Girl in Family Home

A man who is accused of sexually abusing a Burkburnett girl who was 15 years old while her parents were sleeping in another room is currently being held in the Wichita County Jail with the charges against him.

Keith Joseph Syvinski, age 29, was taken into custody close to two weeks ago in the state of California and then extradited to the city of Wichita Falls.

According to the records that can be found online at the Wichita County Jail, he was being held on Thursday instead of a bail amount of $200,000. Anyone who is suspected of committing a crime is deemed innocent unless they are found guilty by a judge or jury.

It is said that the girl’s parents told the police that she acknowledged to having “lost her virginity” to Syvinski in March 2019 at the family home and that she had intercourse with him again the following day. These allegations are contained in court documents that are related to the case.

Investigators were informed by the girl’s mother that her daughter and Syvinski had first discovered one other through an online dating service and had begun communicating on Snapchat. According to the mother, she pretended to be her daughter on social media accounts, and when Syvinski found out about the ruse, he offered her money in exchange for her silence over the assault.

According to AOL.COM When Syvinski was examined by a detective at Fort Sill, he stated that he had picked up the girl intending to have sexual relations with her, but he denied that sexual relations ever took place. After a few days, Syvinski was freed from custody after being arrested.

The charges against him are crimes of the second degree, which carry a potential sentence of two to twenty years in jail if he is found guilty.
