Man and Woman Arrested for Severe Child Abuse in St. Petersburg; TODDLER FOUND WITH INTERNAL INJURIES

TAMPA, Fla.- The St. Petersburg Police Department has reported that a man and a woman have been charged with the crime of “significant internal injuries” after a youngster was taken to the hospital with the condition.

Police have stated that Roseshana Smith, age 23, from Pinellas Park, and Jordan Gatlin, age 26, from St. Petersburg, have been taken into custody and charged with the offense of severe child abuse.

According to the police, a youngster who was in their care and was two years old was transported to a hospital on Thursday with “significant internal injuries and multiple scars in various stages of healing.”

According to the police, it was also discovered that a youngster who was eight months old had been neglected.

According to an arrest document, Gatlin is accused of using a lethal weapon to assault the two-year-old child, and Smith is accused of failing to protect the eight-month-old child from being abused.

To protect the children’s identities, the police have stated that they would not divulge any other information.
