A small child was reportedly in the restroom when an unknown person reached through the window and attempted to take her out of the room, according to the Washington police department.
According to a post on Facebook made by the Kent Police Department, one of the child’s parents placed a call to 911 at 10:46 p.m. on July 19 from an apartment complex located at 700 East James Street. According to the police officer, the stranger grabbed the child by the hair and threatened her through an open window.
The officials stated that after that, he “pulled her upwards as if to take her through the window.” He allegedly fled after he was unable to locate her, according to the police.
K9s and a helicopter were deployed by the authorities in their search for the culprit, but they were unsuccessful in their efforts. Neighbors are being asked by the authorities to check their security cameras and to submit any information they may have regarding the suspect, who is being accused of attempting to kidnap individuals.
During the investigation, the man was characterized by the police as being on “the thinner side” and standing between 5 feet, 6 inches, and 5 feet, 9 inches tall. A blue hoodie was apparently on his person at the time, and he is said to have been bald with facial hair.
