The British teenager who was inebriated by laughing gas and caused his car to crash, which resulted in the deaths of three passengers, was sentenced to nine years and four months in jail, according to the police and press sources.
The incident resulted in the deaths of all three passengers.
At Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday, 19-year-old Thomas Johnson entered a guilty plea for the accident that took place in June 2023 and resulted in the deaths of Elliot Pullen, who was 17 years old, Ethan Goddard, who was 18 years old, and Daniel Hancock, who was 18 years old.
It was reported by the Thames Valley Police that Johnson, who was caught on photographs inhaling the nitrous oxide while he was behind the wheel, lost control of the silver BMW that was moving at nearly 100 miles per hour and crashed into a tree, a stone wall, and a lamppost.
The route had a speed limit of thirty miles per hour.
The car was discovered to have canisters of nitrous oxide, and Johnson was shown on footage that was discovered on the phones of the three passengers using a balloon to inhale the gas on the video.
According to the Guardian, Judge Emma Nott told Johnson that he will be “forever defined” by his “teenage mistakes” throughout the sentencing process.
She also informed him that the facial disfigurement and injuries he sustained as a result of the accident, which included head trauma, shattered ribs, and loss of sight in one eye, would serve as a “permanent reminder” to him that his actions were responsible for the deaths of his companions.
“Your three passengers will never see beyond their teenage years, and you move out of yours significantly and permanently disabled,” the judge said, the publication reported.

The relatives of the boys issued a united statement in which they expressed their hope that Johnson’s sentence will “serve as a deterrent to other drivers,” as reported by Sky News.
The parents of Pullen issued a further statement, in which they emphasized that the family was “united by grief” and that they were going through a “permanent living nightmare.” This message was published.

Detective Tony Jenkins, who was one of the senior detectives who were conducting the investigation, referred to the crash as “one of the most catastrophic and tragic collisions I have ever investigated.”
“Ethan, Elliot and Daniel stood no chance. They were simply enjoying a night out, and their lives were needlessly and tragically cut short by Johnson’s actions,” he stated.
