Kokomo Police Officer Fired and Arrested for Alleged Sexual Misconduct With Minor

One of the policemen working for the Kokomo Police Department has been terminated.

As stated in a news statement, Sinmi Asomuyide was fired because she had committed “multiple policy violations.”

On July 1, Commissioner Douglas Stout of the Kokomo Police Department stated that he was informed by another law enforcement agency about an inquiry that involved a probationary officer with the Kokomo Police Department. Following that, the KPD made contact with the Indiana State Police and requested that they investigate the claims that had been presented against Asomuyide.

Following the preliminary examination conducted by ISP, it was discovered that Asomuyide had violated various privacy policies. The Kansas City Police Department (KPD) announced that Asomuyide was discharged solely due to the policy infractions.

Following the KPD, Asomuyide was taken into custody by the Indiana State Police on Monday. According to the Tipton County Jail, Asomuyide has been charged with sexual misconduct with a juvenile, sexual battery, child seduction, and official misconduct. These charges are currently in the preliminary stages of investigation.

Asomuyide is facing several allegations, the most serious of which are Level 4 felonies in the state of Indiana. These charges include sexual misconduct with a minor and sexual battery. A sentence of twelve years in prison and a fine of up to ten thousand dollars is the maximum punishment that can be imposed for a Level 4 Felony in the state of Indiana.
