The White House declined to comment on inquiries regarding President Joe Biden’s suitability for the position, following his statement suggesting a recent conversation with a deceased French head of state from the 1990s.

During a speech in Las Vegas, Biden shared an anecdote about a conversation he had with world leaders in the United Kingdom in 2021.

During the daily White House briefing, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy mentioned that President Francois Mitterrand passed away in 1996.

Doocy questioned Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about how the president would address the concerns of a significant portion of the population regarding his physical and mental well-being.

When Doocy disagreed with her, she elaborated on her answer by providing a detailed list of Biden’s recent activities.

“You witnessed the president’s presence in Vegas and California,” she stated.

“You witnessed the president’s presence in South Carolina. You witnessed his presence in Michigan. I’ll just leave it there,” she added.

The episode underscored Biden’s advancing age. At 81, he is already the oldest president in history, and he is seeking re-election for another term that would extend his time in office until the age of 86.

Last year, a poll conducted by DailyMail.com revealed that 70 percent of voters expressed concerns about Biden’s age in relation to his presidential candidacy. A significant portion of Democrats, over half, have expressed their reservations, highlighting the difficulties he will encounter during his re-election campaign.

Every mistake is scrutinized, whether it’s justified or not, suggesting that his age is hindering his performance in the role.

At the 2021 summit, he was actually speaking with President Emmanuel Macron instead of Mitterrand, which was a mistake that Biden’s experience in international affairs made worse.

He has a good understanding of Macron, who was elected in 2017 at the age of 39. Macron holds the distinction of being the youngest president in French history and the youngest French head of state since Napoleon. Biden had the opportunity to meet Mitterrand during his time as a young senator.
