Ironton Man Critically Injured in Collision With Tree on Cape Girardeau County Highway

PATTON, Mo – An Ironton man was critically hurt after colliding with a tree in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the accident happened around 1:55 p.m. on Friday, December 6. The driver was traveling eastbound on Highway 72, five miles west of Patton.

A 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt veered off the right side of the road and collided with a tree, causing the incident.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 56-year-old Ironton man, was critically hurt in the collision. He was transported by EMS to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

According to the Highway Patrol, the driver was not wearing a safety device at the time of the collision.
