A woman from Inverness, who is 61 years old, was taken into custody on Saturday night after the body of her roommate, who was wrapped in a tarp, was discovered.

Tracy Lee Stanley is being held for a second-degree murder charge, according to the authorities. After the CCSO Communications Center received a call regarding a deceased individual being discovered, deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of East Rector Street in Inverness to investigate the reported incident.

When law enforcement officers entered the residence, they discovered the victim, Andrea Kathleen Day, who was 72 years old, wrapped in a tarp and dead.

Following the conclusion of the investigation, Stanley was taken into custody and put into the Citrus County Detention Facility. According to the sheriff’s office, she is currently being held without bond.

“My deepest condolences go out to the family of Andrea Day as they begin the long process of healing,” Sheriff Prendergast said in a statement. Her family is going through a difficult time right now. It was a needless act of violence that was committed.
