Indianapolis Man Arrested for July Shooting That Left ONE DEAD AND ANOTHER INJURED

A guy was arrested on Monday for allegedly shooting two individuals and killing one of them in July on Indianapolis’ northeast side.

According to court filings, shortly after midnight on Monday, August 5, police got information that the suspect in the July 13 shooting was at a gas station in the 3300 block of North Arlington Avenue, near East 34th Street. Police were told what vehicle the suspect was driving and what he was wearing. With this information, officers went to the petrol station and discovered the culprit. He was then brought into prison.

The original incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on July 13 in the 4000 block of Edgemere Court, near 42nd Street and Millersville Road.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a dead woman. The Marion County Coroner’s Office eventually identified the victim as Nakyra La Shawn McGee, who was 25 years old. Around the same time, IMPD East District officers rushed to Community Hospital East after receiving a report of a walk-in individual shot.

When cops arrived, they discovered a 44-year-old man was receiving treatment for a gunshot wound. His condition was characterized as “stable.”

According to IMPD, officers discovered a connection between the two incidents.

According to court documents, the defendant was already on probation for being a major violent criminal in possession of a firearm and intimidating others with the threat of committing a forcible offense.
