The horrific incident occurred on Thursday along Meridian Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and left the seven-month-old toddler with a gunshot wound.

Police in Philadelphia released security footage from the incident on Friday to identify the alleged shooter.

In the video, the woman wielding the pistol is dressed in a black hoodie and appears to have long dreadlocks.

The perpetrator, later identified by police as Dominique Billips, 28, is seen approaching the couple and their stroller from behind and firing one shot in their direction.

In the footage, the father appears to flee as the suspect continues to shoot at both the mother and father. Moments after the shooting started, the woman can be heard wailing, “My baby!”

At this point, the suspect returns to the mother and appears to say, “F**k your baby, b***h.”

Police confirmed that the gunshots did not strike the parents, but the youngster was injured in the leg.

Billips has been arrested and accused with aggravated assault, among other things, according to local NBC affiliate WCAU. She was allegedly arrested Friday evening, according to CBS News.

A nice Samaritan who witnessed the entire occurrence reportedly transported the baby to a nearby hospital.

The toddler is in stable condition.

The dad, who declined to be identified, spoke with WCAU and explained why he assisted the child in receiving medical care.

“When I find out the baby was 7 months and both parents said they have warrants,” he informed me.

“They came out of their car, and I snatched the infant.

“I simply felt like I needed to protect this youngster. It was overwhelming. It was scary.

He kept going: “This person came up and didn’t care with no remorse and just fired and walked away like nothing happened.” Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum of the Philadelphia Police Department told the publication that the child’s parents fled the scene because they had outstanding warrants.

Rosenbaum stated that the parents feared being imprisoned.

They were discovered by authorities around an hour after the incident.

“This appears to be the result of a $100 narcotics debt, according to what we’re told,” the lieutenant said.

“So it’s sad, you see that video, she literally points the gun at the mother of the baby — who is also a juvenile — and fires,” Rosenbaum told The SUN. “Luckily she missed and that’s probably when the baby got hit.”

Billips is likely to be arraigned Monday.
