Winds kicked up again in New Mexico today, along with higher temperatures. Low humidity levels, combined with high winds, scorching temperatures, and an unstable environment, have created a fire risk for the majority of eastern New Mexico.
Today, southern Colorado had wintry weather, with some areas receiving up to 6 inches. As we head tonight, we’ll see some high-level clouds moving through the state, as well as seasonable low temps. The winds will ease down significantly but remain brisk.
Winds will die down early this week as temperatures drop slightly. High temperatures will remain above average through the middle of next week statewide. There are hints that a storm may return to New Mexico late this week, bringing rain and snow.
