Heartbreaking Case of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray’s Rape and Murder in Houston, Texas

HOUSTON, Texas – A 12-year-old girl who was raped, strangled to death, and later discovered in a creek in Texas has been named by the state’s law enforcement.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Houston Police Department identified the youngster as Jocelyn Nungaray. The officials had previously stated that the body of Nungaray was found in a creek that was rather shallow at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Monday.

Another statement made by the authorities was that two people were taken into custody on Thursday morning and “are currently being questioned in this case.” In the past, the police had requested assistance from the general public in locating the group.

The police have announced that a news conference will take place on Thursday at 2:00 p.m., during which Mayor John Whitmire, Acting Chief of Police Larry Satterwhite, and homicide investigators will release additional information regarding the case. At the conclusion of the investigation conducted by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, the authorities determined that the girl had died as a result of being strangled.
