Head-On Collision on US Highway 87 CLAIMS 2 LIVES, INJURES 1; Speed, Alcohol, and Drugs Suspected

MUSSELSHELL COUNTY, Mont.(Sky21) – One person was injured and two persons were killed as a result of a head-on collision that occurred on United States Highway 87 close to mile marker 15.

While traveling south, a man from Havre, who was 28 years old at the time, drifted into the northbound lane and collided with a man from Billings, who was 68 years old, and a woman from Billings, who was 66 years old.

In the vicinity of 1:15 p.m. on September 3, 2024, the collision took place. A death certificate was issued for both the 68-year-old and the 28-year-old upon arrival at the scene. The female patient, who was 66 years old, was transported to Roundup Memorial Healthcare.

Some reasons are thought to have contributed to the accident, including drink, drugs, and speed, as stated in the collision report from the Montana Highway Patrol. An accident investigation is being conducted by the Montana Highway Patrol.
