FORT WORTH, Texas – A man was arrested and charged with murder after reportedly shooting a father and son outside their north Fort Worth house, according to an arrest affidavit.
Fermin Lucio Ramirez and his son, Jacob, were found shot at 1:51 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, at their house at 2420 Ross Ave., according to police. According to the arrest warrant, the incident occurred after the two men repeatedly begged another group of males to leave their residence following a night of drinking.
Cameron Cummins, 31, was arrested and charged with two charges of capital murder in the shootings of Fermin and Jacob, according to authorities.
The affidavit described how the shooting allegedly occurred.
Witnesses informed detectives that Fermin and Jacob went to a pub with two lifelong friends, whose names were blacked from the affidavit. According to authorities, one of the buddies brought Cummins, who Ramirez was unfamiliar with. The gang walked to Fermin and Jacob’s house and continued drinking in the front yard.

Around midnight, Fermin picked up a woman whose name was redacted from the paper. She recognized one of Ramirez’s friends who works with Cummins at a strip club, according to the affidavit.
Cummins and other members of the group flirted with the anonymous woman “and spoke down to her, which caused everyone to agree that the night should end,” according to the release.
Fermin and Jacob repeatedly urged Cummins and an unidentified individual to leave, but they refused. Cummins took a revolver from his waist and proceeded near the father and son before shooting them.
The affidavit states that a witness drove Cummins away from the site before returning to talk with police.
Cummins “was asked to leave 2420 Ross multiple times, by multiple people, including the homeowners,” according to the affidavit. (He) refused to go, and many witnesses saw him shoot Fermin and Jacob. Surveillance video corroborates witness accounts. (Cummins) actively sought Fermin and Jacob, who posed no threat to him.”
The Ramirez family informed WFAA that they intend to raise money to aid with funeral expenses.
