Pembroke Pines, Florida – A mother was arrested on Monday after allegedly leaving a 5-year-old kid alone in a hot car while shopping at Walmart in Pembroke Pines.
Pembroke Pines police said they responded to a child negligence incident at the Walmart at 12800 Pines Blvd. shortly before 2:30 p.m. According to officials, Martine Louis-Jacques, 62, left the youngster unattended in a gray 2012 Mercedes when she entered the business.
According to her arrest report, the car’s engine was turned off and all windows were rolled up, leaving the girl with no air circulation.

Louis-Jacques and the girl left the business before law officers arrived at roughly 2:51 p.m.
Authorities said Walmart surveillance tape captured the entire incident, including Louis-Jacques parking the car and entering the store without the daughter.
According to jail records, Louis-Jacques faces one count of child neglect without serious bodily injury.
Police have not revealed Louis-Jacques’ relationship with the victim.
As of Tuesday, she was being held in the Broward Main Jail on a $3,500 bail.
