There is little chance that it will rain today. The rise isn’t very big—about 10%—but it might be noticeable because there is more news. Many people will be glad for the extra rain because it’s going to be hot. In the afternoon, there is a HEAT ADVISORY because it “feels like” it will be over 110 degrees.

Additionally, there is a 60% chance that it will rain or storm on both Friday and Saturday. The prediction for the weekend is less certain because it depends a lot on how Disturbance 1 changes in the Atlantic.

The National Hurricane Center has been keeping an eye on a group of showers and thunderstorms in the Atlantic to see if they could turn into tropical storms. At this point, big changes are not likely to happen in the next couple of days. But as it gets closer to the Bahamas, the system will enter an atmosphere with more rain and better conditions for growth.

There is a 60% chance that it will turn into a tropical depression or even a tropical storm at that point. As this storm gets closer to Florida, the upper-level winds are likely to become less helpful for development. Conditions may get better again if it curves north toward the mid-Atlantic states, which makes it more likely that it will turn into a tropical storm called Debby.

The new early morning forecast from the National Hurricane Center has moved the area where a hurricane could form to the eastern Gulf of Mexico. If this happens, it may rain more on the Suncoast next week.

Since the system hasn’t formed yet, we don’t know what effects it will have on the Suncoast. The results of models keep being all over the place. We might not get any rain for a while if there is a bigger storm off the Atlantic coast. On the other hand, if there is a weaker storm closer to us, it will probably rain a few days early next week. No matter what, we might have a few days with a breeze. However, there is no dangerous weather expected right now.
