Payments for SNAP started on the 1st of the month and will continue until the 10th.

The specific day that benefits are distributed to eligible low-income households is determined by the recipients’ case numbers.

Recipients in California who have case numbers ending in 1 should have already received their CalFresh benefits on February 1st. 

The payment dates will continue until this Saturday, February 10th, when those with case numbers ending in 0 will receive their payments.

The precise amount of benefits a household will receive is determined by various factors, such as the size of the household, income limits, and any additional assets. 

The maximum payment for different household sizes are as follows: $291 for a household of one, $973 for a household of four, and $1,751 for a household of eight. Each additional member in a household can receive up to $219 in additional food stamps.

Every month, SNAP benefits are loaded onto an electronic benefits transfer card. Cardholders have the convenience of being able to use their card at various grocery stores to buy a wide range of eligible food items, including fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, meat, poultry, as well as beverages. 

Nevertheless, certain items like pet food, alcohol, also household products like paper and soap are not eligible for purchase using SNAP benefits.
