Two guys have been taken into custody in connection with a homicide that took place on July 5 in the city of Mendota.
Both a father and a son were taken into custody by homicide detectives from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office for their roles in the murder of Antonio Torres Ochoa, who was 37 years old during the time of the incident.
The Fresno County Jail was the location where the father and son, who both carry the name Javier Medina, were booked into respective cells. An accessory to murder allegation has been brought against Medina, who is 61 years old. Additionally, he had a warrant out for child molestation at the time of the incident.

One of his sons, Medina, who is 38 years old, is being charged with murder.
At around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5th, at the intersection of Shields and Fairfax Avenues, just outside of Mendota, deputies were dispatched to check on the well-being of an injured individual.
Deputy sheriffs discovered the deceased body of the guy, who was later determined to be Ochoa, in a cornfield when they arrived.
After taking over the investigation, homicide investigators gathered evidence that led them to conclude that Javier Medina, also known as Juju, was the principal suspect in the case. Medina is 38 years old.

Detectives executed a search warrant and placed Medina under arrest for the crime of murder.
An additional search warrant was subsequently served at the residence of his father in Mendota, where officers detained him on suspicion of being an accessory to the murder they had committed.
According to KMPH, this was a one-off occurrence in which the suspects and the victim were familiar with one another.
Detectives are continuing their efforts to identify a possible motivation.
