Fatal Stabbing Inside Manhattan Subway Station: 39-year-old Victim Killed After Dispute

A man who was 39 years old succumbed to stab wounds inside a subway station in Manhattan on Friday.

Reports of a stabbing were received at the 175th Street A train station in Washington Heights just before 6 p.m. Officers arrived at the scene promptly.

According to the police, when officers arrived, they discovered a male who had experienced a stab wound to the body.

A medical examiner at NYC Health + Hospitals in Harlem determined that the victim had passed away after being transported there.

During the time when the victim and the suspect were engaged in a quarrel, the victim was reportedly located in the mezzanine.

An investigation is still being conducted to determine the cause of the disagreement.

There have been no arrests made.

“This was a senseless attack that spilled from the street to the subway,” announced Tim Minton, the director of communications for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), in a statement. “We are providing full cooperation in the investigation, with confidence that the New York Police Department will quickly identify and apprehend the perpetrator.”

While the New York Police Department continues its investigation, trains are avoiding 175th Street in both directions as of 6:13 p.m.

Transportation to 175th Street can be obtained by using either the No. 1 train or the M100 bus.
