A boat that was moving five persons had an accident in Oregon, which resulted in the death of one individual and the disappearance of two others.

On Saturday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. local time, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) reacted to the region off the Columbia River Bar after receiving a call stating that a boat had capsized. The USCG made this announcement in a post on X, which was formerly known as Twitter.

According to the local FOX affiliate KPTV, even though three of the five people who were on board the boat were found, one of the men who was rescued passed away at a hospital in the region. More than that, there are still two people who have not been found. They have been identified as a male aged 54 and a young kid aged 11.

It was not immediately possible to obtain any additional information regarding the fate of the other passengers who were rescued. According to Oregon State Parks, the Columbia River Bar, which is located at the point where the Pacific Ocean and the Columbia River meet, is sometimes referred to as the “Graveyard of the Pacific” because it is notoriously difficult to navigate due to the hazardous seas that are commonly encountered there.
