Dr. Hamid Mirshojae was attacked by three guys with baseball bats many months before he was fatally shot outside his Woodland Hills medical practice, according to an employee and authorities.
According to the employee, Mirshojae told her after the attack that he was afraid for his life.
“They arrived and thrashed him with baseball bats… “They were some strangers that we didn’t know,” claimed the employee, who asked to remain anonymous for her safety.
No arrests have been made in the case, and the investigation is still underway, according to police, who did not specify when the attack took place. It is unclear whether the beating was linked to Mirshojae’s murder last week. Det. Christine Moselle of the Los Angeles Police Department said detectives are aware of the earlier attack, which is still unsolved.
The discovery of past violence against the doctor, who was mourned by the community as a caring and beloved practitioner, raises new concerns about the brutal homicide that has left the Woodland Hills town reeling.
Two MINORS CHARGED IN FATAL SHOOTOUT That Killed 13-year-old in East Austin
As police began their investigation on Tuesday, they stated that Mirshojae was the victim of a targeted killing carried out by a single gunman. The fatal shooting was caught on video.
Around 5:30 p.m., the doctor was walking from his clinic to his Lexus, which was parked in the corner of the lot, when an assailant sprinted out of the parking lot’s rear entrance and shot him from point-blank range.
Mirshojae most certainly did not see what happened because he was shot from behind, according to an employee who studied security footage of the doctor’s final moments.
The employee left the office 15 minutes before the murder. When she returned, after 7 p.m., the parking area was crowded with police. She stated she could see her boss’ legs stretched out on the floor.
Moselle told The Times that the shooter most likely did not speak with Mirshojae and that he was “shot almost immediately.”

Moselle added that while the footage is not clear, it looks like the gunman was a guy.
Moselle stated that investigators are looking into the doctor’s past and interactions to determine who killed him and why. However, the motive is now unknown, according to her.
