Two individuals from Florida have been apprehended for orchestrating a plan to entice a 73-year-old individual on a date with a woman, only to have the man assault and steal from him, as per the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies, the hospital staff notified authorities about the incident on Feb. 22 when the 73-year-old man arrived at the emergency room with injuries to his head, torso, and arms.
Authorities reported that the man required staples in his head and had one eye swollen shut.

The victim shared with officials that he encountered Chelsea Wright, 34, at a bar in Daytona Beach to talk about their romantic relationship.
Wright proposed that they return to her house.
While following Wright in a separate vehicle, the victim mentioned that Wright stopped to pick up a man, later identified as her associate and ex-boyfriend, 33-year-old Andrew Marks, on the side of the road.
They continued driving until she pulled over and allowed Marks to exit the vehicle.
According to deputies, the victim exited his vehicle and approached Wright’s vehicle.
Former Boyfriend Robbery: Arrests Made After Violent Assault and Theft
At that moment, Marks resurfaced, hitting him in the head with a solid metal object and knocking him to the ground.
He then took his wallet and ran away. Authorities stated that Wright ran away shortly after, abandoning the victim who was bleeding on the ground.
Wright was subsequently stopped for a traffic violation, during which law enforcement discovered drugs in her vehicle.
The individual was taken into custody for drug-related offenses and for violating probation.
Investigators discovered text messages between Wright and Marks detailing their intentions to commit the crime.
Marks was found on March 1 and taken into custody for robbery with a weapon and aggravated battery against a person over 65.
Wright was taken into custody in connection with those charges.
