A Michigan lady claims she was randomly attacked by a man on a bicycle after her Uber driver dropped her off at a spot in Detroit.

Morgan Catton, 27, stated in the description of a GoFundMe page that she was “leaving downtown Detroit to meet at a friend’s house” and “took an Uber” to her friend’s home around 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13.

“While walking down the sidewalk, I spotted a man riding a bicycle on the same side of the sidewalk as me. Before he passes me, he jumps off his bike, grabs my neck, and pushes me to the ground, punching me repeatedly in the face. Catton writes, “Not a word was shared.”

“I was admitted to the hospital for the night and received sutures in my left eye, as well as the insides of my mouth and lips. Due to my injuries, I underwent CT scans and a variety of additional tests to check that I had no broken bones. “I am grateful to have walked away from this without even a fracture,” she added.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Detroit police stated that Catton was “assaulted by an unknown suspect as she was walking to her friend’s house after she was dropped off by a rideshare”.

“The suspect left the scene on a bicycle. “The investigation is being handled by the Detroit Police Department’s 10th Precinct,” according to the statement. “It appears that this incident was random.”

The attacker is thought to be a man in his forties or fifties, standing about 5 feet, 8 inches tall. Foxnews said that he was riding a dark blue or gray bicycle.

Currently, this man is still wandering the streets, and I pray to God that this does not happen to another woman or worse.” Catton wrote on her GoFundMe page, “Support Morgan’s Recovery from Assault.”

Uber claimed it contacted Catton following the horrific occurrence.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313)596-1040 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
