After being arrested on charges of beating and threatening two women, a Polk County deputy finally decided to step down from his position.
Deputy Anthony Martinez was accused of inflicting many injuries on one of the victims, according to the sheriff’s office, which received a report on July 3 from the victim.
There was a second female victim, according to the investigators, who later reached this conclusion.
At least six instances of domestic abuse between the two victims were described as having been discovered by the detectives. Among the acts of violence that were committed, one victim’s hand was slammed into a drawer, another victim was restrained for up to twenty minutes to prevent her from leaving her apartment, and gun threats were made.
Martinez was questioned about the allegations, according to the sheriff’s office, and as a result, he admitted to some of the activities but denied others.
A press release states that Martinez was taken into custody and that he immediately resigned upon his arrival at the processing center.
Martinez has been a deputy for much less than a year, according to the clickorlando.
Two counts of domestic violence false imprisonment, six counts of simple battery, one count of culpable negligence, three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of inappropriate exhibition of a firearm are among the charges that have been brought against him.
