Dallas-Fort Worth should expect rain and lower temperatures throughout the Labor Day weekend. Jennifer Dunn, warning coordination meteorologist at the National Weather Service Fort Worth office, predicts a 40% chance of rain Friday with temperatures in the low 90s.

Rain chances will rise to 60% on Saturday and Sunday, followed by 50% on Monday. Over the next three days, temperatures will range from the upper 80s to the low 90s.

According to Dunn, the weekend storms will be distributed, so some locations may receive more rain than others.

Those planning to spend one final summer weekend on the lake before the fall should be weather-aware, according to Dunn. While severe weather is not forecast, the NWS predicts gusty winds and heavy rains with the weekend storms.

Those out on the water should check their local forecast and keep an eye on the sky, Dunn advised. Aside from that, much of North Texas should experience storms and cold temperatures this Labor Day weekend.

“It’s pretty pleasant temperatures for the end of August,” Dunn told me.
