Forty court records including information on Jeffrey Epstein’s contacts, including former US presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, have been made public.
More than 150 of the disgraced paedophile’s associates are expected to be unmasked in the trove of documents, which are being unredacted as part of a court order issued on December 18th.
US District Judge Loretta Preska ordered that the court records in Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre’s lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell be disclosed and that the names of up to 200 “John and Jane Does” be suppressed.
Ms. Giuffre filed a defamation suit against Maxwell in 2015 after she called her a liar over her claims of sexual abuse as a kid.
The lawsuit was settled in 2017, but the names were kept under wraps until now.
Judge Preska ruled last month that there is no legal rationale for keeping the identities in the records redacted, paving the path for other renowned persons to be linked to the notorious disgraced financier.
In addition to revealing Epstein’s colleagues’ identities, the cache of records is expected to give more insight into Epstein’s decades-long campaign of abuse and sex trafficking.
