Tonight, temperatures across New England are expected to plummet to the teens and low 20s, according to the National Weather Service of the United States of America.
The night will be chilling and dry. A few areas in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and southeast Massachusetts may get snow showers for a short period before they become less severe.
With the arrival of an Alberta Clipper tomorrow, snow will begin to accumulate in higher terrain to the northwest of Interstate 495, while rain is anticipated along the Interstate 95 corridor.
The central highlands may receive anything from two to five inches of snowfall. There is a possibility that traffic could be disrupted on Thursday due to snow squalls and severe gusts that could reach speeds of up to fifty miles per hour.
Temperatures are expected to drop significantly by Friday, and by Sunday, a rising trend will have begun.
