BUFORD, Ga. — Another man from Georgia has been arrested on charges relating to the attack on the U.S. Capitol Jan. 6.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said Verden Andrew Nalley, 49, of Buford, was arrested Tuesday.

Information about what charges Nalley faces has not been released yet.

Nalley is the ninth person from Georgia arrested after violent protesters supporting former President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol. Seven people, including a woman from Kennesaw, died as a result of attack.

Mississippi City Will Pay You To Move There

How about a move to a charming place that will pay you $6,000 to relocate and move there for a year?

The historic city of Natchez—known for its rich sunsets, vibrant festivals, meandering bike paths, and antebellum homes—is offering remote workers $2,500 in moving expenses and $300 a month for a year to help people up sticks and move to town.

When we say it’s a historic place, we mean it. According to Lonely Planet, this is “one of the oldest continuous settlements on the Mississippi River, besting New Orleans, its bigger, flashier neighbor, by two years.”In good news: The cost of living in the city, home to 15,000, is lower than the national average, and the median home is $96,056 according to Zillow.

The first and only city in the Deep South to offer such a program, the initiative is called Shift South and there are 30 slots available. Those who want to apply will need to be employed remotely in the US. They’ll need to establish primary residency in Natchez, buy a home there worth $150,000 or more, and own and live in it for one year.

“The pandemic has really been a wake-up call to what people have been feeling for a long time,” local mayor Dan Gibson told CNN. “They’re tired of the big cities, the high cost of living and the long commutes. With this offer, you can live in a beautiful, historic small town where everything is convenient and affordable.”

An Act of Kindness From A Homeless Man

In Jewish tradition, a mitzvah is a good deed that’s performed with a good heart simply because it’s the right thing to do. And that’s just how Evelyn Topper described the kind act of a homeless stranger who’d gone out of his way to return her lost wallet.

Topper likely dropped the wallet when she and her granddaughter, Mikayla Gounard, were leaving a local coffee shop in San Rafael, California that they’d just patronized, but Topper didn’t realize it was missing until she got home. With her credit, debit, and medical cards gone, she was understandably upset.

The next day, however, Topper got a call that put her worries to rest.

Sean Curry had found the wallet in a dumpster behind the coffee shop. Except for the cash, its contents were intact. Even though he’d been homeless for five years, rather than take advantage, Curry reached out to make arrangements to return Topper’s property.

While a true mitzvah is performed without expectation of recognition or reward, sometimes the powers that be—with the help of a determined young girl—take matters into their own hands.

Mikayla Gounard had already planned a socially distant “drive-by” party for her upcoming 12th birthday. Rather than presents, she’d decided to ask for contributions to be donated to charity in her name.

Gounard hadn’t yet chosen which charity the money would go to, but after learning more about the man who’d so selflessly returned her grandmother’s wallet, the choice seemed obvious.

It was Gounard’s turn to set her own mitzvah in motion. On the day of her party, the newly-minted 12-year-old placed a photo of Curry and a collection basket next to balloons and party favors on an outdoor table in her driveway. By the end of her “Happy Birthday!” processional, she’d raised several hundred dollars. When Gounard and her mom met up with Curry the next day to give him the money, he admitted to feeling truly humbled by the heartwarming gesture.Rather than merely giving lip service to the idea that “one good turn deserves another,” like Curry, Gounard chose to make that good turn happen—because she knew it was the right thing to do.

“I think it’s really important that people who think that because you got pushed down you can never get back up again,” Gounard said.

We think so too.

Moving Company Helps Domestic Violence Victims Leave Homes At No Cost

A moving company announced this month a new commitment to provide free moves to victims of domestic violence and those currently living in abusive situations.

Since the recent launch of the program, College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving has already completed over 100 free moves for those who are fleeing an unsafe situation in the U.S. and Canada.

This new program is even more important as more cities are going into lockdown and victims can end up being trapped during the pandemic without relief.

“I definitely think our Free Moves for Survivors of Domestic Violence program sheds light on a really important issue that is not often talked about,” College Hunks co-founder Nick Friedman told GNN.

“As a purpose driven, socially-conscious organization we’re always looking for ways to positively impact our communities—in this case, particularly for those who feel powerless in unhealthy home situations.”

20 years ago, another moving company, Meathead Movers, began offering free moves to people in abusive homes. Last year they donated more than $150,000 worth of moving services, partnering with eight domestic violence shelters in Central and Southern California.

Now, College Hunks Hauling is extending the same kind of help across their 131 franchise locations in the U.S. and Canada, offering the use of trucks and labor at no cost.

Individuals who need this kind of help should first contact their local domestic violence-prevention shelter to notify them of their situation.

A certified domestic violence-prevention shelter will then need to approve and coordinate the no-cost move requests through College HUNKS to ensure that the victim is supported throughout the entire transition.Once qualifications for the free move are confirmed, the approving shelter works in partnership with College Hunks to execute the move in coordination with their local franchise owner and the local authorities, as needed, for the safety of both the victim and the assisting College HUNKS team.College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving was originally founded by two college buddies, Omar Soliman and Nick who began using a beat-up cargo van to haul furniture. H.U.N.K.S. becoming an abbreviation for Honest, Uniformed, Nice, Knowledgeable, Service.

Follow the instructions above in order to be considered for free moving services…

12 Year Old Accepted to Georgia Tech

Nov. 24 (UPI) — A 12-year-old Georgia boy who has been accepted to attend Georgia Tech said he plans to study aerospace engineering for a career in space exploration.

Caleb Anderson, 12, who is dual-enrolled in high school and Chattahoochee Technical College, is aiming to start classes at Georgia Tech next fall, his family said.

“I think I am going to go to Mars, and do more school, I think, and try to get my master’s at Georgia Tech,” Anderson told WSB-TV.

“Then do an internship with Elon Musk, and then I’ll probably get my Ph.D. at MIT. And then I think I’ll start working at either NASA or SpaceX.”

The boy’s parents said they noticed their son was exceptionally intelligent at a very young age.Father Kobi Anderson said Caleb was asking questions from the time he was able to talk.

The precocious 12-year-old, who has received an offer from comedian Steve Harvey to cover the cost of his tuition at Georgia Tech, offered some advice for other kids seeking to emulate his successes.

“If you want to succeed, you have to do two things. Number one, you have to learn to fail,” he said. “That’s a really big part of winning, too. … And the second part is, you always try. … If somebody says, ‘You can’t do that,’ that doesn’t mean it’s not possible.”

China Wants to Give Every Person a Barcode

China’s communist leader Xi Jinping is calling for countries across the world to accept a global COVID-19 tracking system that uses QR codes in an attempt to expedite international travel.

Xi proposed the concept during a virtual G20 leaders’ meeting on Saturday, noting that this “global mechanism” uses an electronic barcode that would help determine a traveler’s health status, according to China’s government-run “news” agency.

“China has proposed a global mechanism on the mutual recognition of health certificates based on nucleic acid test results in the form of internationally accepted QR codes,” Xi said. “We hope more countries will join this mechanism.”

“We need to further harmonise policies and standards and establish ‘fast tracks’ to facilitate the orderly flow of personnel,” he added.

The system provides users with a color code based on their risk of exposure to the coronavirus and the QR codes, or bar codes can be read on mobile devices.

A green code indicates that someone is safe to travel, while an orange or red code signifies the need to quarantine for up to two weeks.

Xi didn’t elaborate on the type of app or QR code system that would be used and who would design it.

Meanwhile, some people have expressed concerns over the use of a system that was designed by China’s communist party which is known for using extreme methods to control people through censorship and surveillance.Kenneth Roth, executive director of Human Rights Watch tweeted, “Beware of the Chinese government’s proposal for a global QR code system. An initial focus on health could easily become a Trojan Horse for broader political monitoring and exclusion, akin to the dangers associated with China’s social-credit system.”

Stuart Hargreaves, associated professor at Chinese University of Hong Kong, said if a QR code is used to store classified health information then issues over privacy become “particularly important.”

“(For example) what information is stored in the underlying record, how it is generated, where it is stored, who has access to it,” Hargreaves argued.

Raina MacIntyre, head of the Biosecurity Research Program at the University of New South Wales’ Kirby Institute stressed that safeguarding private information is pivotal.

“(But) will individuals consent to another government that isn’t their own government accessing their data? That may be the price to pay for travel,” she said.

And some Christians say these technology-driven measures and tracking systems are another step toward the fulfillment of the End Times “Mark of the Beast” prophesied 2,000 years ago in the biblical book of Revelation.

“It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.”– Revelation 13:16-17 (NIV).

Polling Indicates If Mainstream News Media Had Been Fair, Biden Would Have Lost

A recent survey of Joe Biden voters indicates he would have lost the presidential race if the mainstream news media hadn’t covered up stories about alleged scandals involving the former vice president. And the same would have happened if those same media outlets had covered rather than ignored President Trump’s successes.

According to the Media Research Center (MRC) poll of Biden voters in seven swing states, hiding bad Biden news helped him on Election Day.

For instance, 35.4 percent of those voting for him admitted their news sources didn’t report on the Hunter Biden scandal. If they had known about it, 9.4 percent of them would have changed their vote. That could have moved six of the swing states into the Trump column, giving him a decisive 311 electoral votes.

Meanwhile, not reporting positive news about Trump seriously hurt his chances at attaining the needed 270 electoral votes.

For instance, 49 percent of Biden voters said they’d received no news about the staggering and historic 33 percent jump in third-quarter economic growth.  5.6 percent of them said had they been aware, it would have changed their vote. That could have also potentially swung state to Trump, providing a winning margin of 295 electoral votes for his reelection. And 43.5 percent of Biden voters say their news sources didn’t provide enough if any, information on the Middle East peace deals involving Israel that were brokered by the Trump administration. Those deals have led to three Nobel Peace Prize nominations for Trump. If they had known about these historic peace deals, five percent said it would have changed their vote. And, again, that would have given Trump an electoral college win.Studies by the Media Research Center show the mainstream news media’s reporting about Trump has been more than 90 percent negative his entire presidency and consistently failed to cover his administration’s accomplishments.

‘Very Serious Assault on Democracy’

At a news conference about the new poll’s findings Tuesday, MRC President Brent Bozell stated, “This is a very, very serious assault on democracy.  When you don’t have the freedom of information when information is being withheld from the voters, do you really have a functioning democracy?  And I would submit that the entire democratic system in America — the electoral system — right now is in peril.”

Though all were invited, not one mainstream news organization had a reporter covering this online news conference about them and their effect on the 2020 presidential election.

Veterans Will Be Granted Lifetime of Free Access to National Parks

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has announced U.S. military veterans and Gold Star families will be granted a lifetime of free access to national parks, wildlife refuges and other federal lands managed by the Department of the Interior.

“With the utmost respect and gratitude, we are granting Veterans and Gold Star Families free access to the iconic and treasured lands they fought to protect starting this Veterans Day and every single day thereafter,” said Secretary of the Interior David L. Bernhardt.

The access passes, called America the Beautiful, currently cost $80 per year and grant entry to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites spread out across more than 400 million acres of public lands, including YosemiteGrand CanyonArches, and Mount Rushmore National Memorial.

To get the free pass, veterans must provide some form of identification showing they were enlisted in the armed forces or the U.S.National Guard and Reserves. Gold Star families are those who have lost an enlisted family member while serving in a war, a military operation outside of the U.S. or in an international terrorist attack.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encourages people to visit parks and camps: “Staying physically active is one of the best ways to keep your mind and body healthy.”

The agency advises adventurers to follow general COVID-19 prevention guidelines including avoiding crowded parks and campgrounds, practicing social distancing, wearing a mask, and washing hands often. The CDC also recommends visiting parks and recreation areas that are close to home.
