The Alabama woman who staged a false date and convinced the victim to be blindfolded and handcuffed while another guy stabbed him 19 times pleaded guilty just as her trial was about to begin. A Geneva County judge sentenced Shalyn Diaz to ten years in jail on Monday after she pleaded guilty to attempted murder in the January attack, according to prosecutors.
According to the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office, Diaz contacted the victim over Facebook Messenger on January 6 and scheduled a trip around the area in her car the next day. She picked him up from his Dothan apartment at 7 p.m.
Unbeknownst to the victim, a man called Robert Hall was hidden inside the trunk.

After a while, Diaz pulled over and asked the victim to sit in the back car while wearing handcuffs and a blindfold. After the victim had done so, Hall slipped out of the trunk and into the backseat. Deputies said Hall began choking the victim with a cord and stabbing him. According to deputies, Hall dragged the victim out of the car with the cord and stabbed him multiple times. In total, Hall stabbed the victim 19 times.

Hall and Diaz then rushed away in their automobile, leaving the victim for dead at the side of the road. However, a car noticed the victim, who was still wearing the handcuffs and the chain around his neck and called for assistance. Paramedics transported the sufferer to the hospital in serious condition, and he survived his injuries.
Police caught Hall and Diaz within a few days, and a grand jury indicted them in April on attempted murder and kidnapping charges. On June 12, Hall pled guilty to attempted murder and was sentenced to life in prison, Dothan lawandcrime reported.
