MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – On Friday evening, authorities in Miami-Dade County investigated a bomb threat.
The Beit Chabad synagogue, which can be found at 1140 Alton Road, was the location of the event.
An envelope was discovered at the synagogue, and authorities described the contents of the mail as a handwritten message. An officer was pulled over by someone inside the synagogue, according to the Miami Beach police department.
As a result of the contents of the letter, the police were forced to evacuate the premises, form a perimeter, and close a portion of Alton Road.
Officers eventually determined that the location was safe, and they gave the area the all-clear.
The police did not disclose whether they had any leads into the origin of the letter or whether they were looking for any suspects or people of interest in connection with the letter.
