RICHMOND, Texas – According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, the corpse of an 8-year-old kid who was missing and the subject of an AMBER Alert was discovered in a lake Sunday morning near his last known location. Around 6:50 a.m., a Texas EquuSearch crew discovered him.
Ryan Akagbusi was last seen leaving his house in Richmond’s Lakemont area just before 5 a.m. on Saturday. Cameras caught him leaving the house wearing shoes, but at 5:37 a.m., a camera in the neighborhood captured Ryan jogging barefoot.
Ryan’s mother, Admorowa Oladind, informed us on Saturday that her son is nonverbal.
“The entire neighborhood, including my friends and family, has gathered here. “Police have arrived,” she remarked throughout the search. “We have had K9. We have had helicopters. We’ve seen drones fly about. We have gone door to door. Everybody is present. “The whole Lakemont is here.”

Oladind stated that while her kid did not speak, he was quite autonomous. After Ryan’s corpse was discovered, neighbors told KHOU 11’s Katiera Winfrey they were sad.
“A child has gone this morning,” said Porsche Smith, who had assisted with the hunt. “I woke up this morning and that was the first thing I thought about.”
Smith stated that now is the moment for the community to rally around a bereaved mother. “Everybody needs to have their arms around you right now because I cannot imagine,” he remarked.
Investigators say it’s unclear how the toddler escaped the residence.
“We feel very sad for the family,” said Dalia Simmons with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
According to authorities, children with autism are commonly drawn to bodies of water due to their sensory nature. The water occasionally moves, and you may see shadows and light reflected off the surface.
“So it’s appealing to children, even if they’re not on the spectrum. “Water is very appealing to children,” Simmons stated.
