According to the police, a dead body was found in a freezer at a San Diego house by visiting relatives.
The horrifying discovery was reported by “out of town” family members shortly before noon on Friday, as stated in a press release issued by the San Diego Police Department.
The body was initially thought to be that of a female, and there are ongoing efforts to determine her identity.
Due to the “unusual location” where the body was discovered, the homicide unit is conducting an investigation; however, it is unknown whether the woman was the victim of foul play.
Assembled by the medical examiner’s office is an investigation into the cause of mortality.
The homeowner of the residence and the identity of the family members who discovered the body have not been disclosed.
According to the police, no further information will be disclosed until identification is established.
The news release stated, “Detectives are continuing to gather information to determine what transpired and why the body was inside the freezer.”
