BODY DISCOVERED NEAR WEST WOODS Shopping Center in Southwest Austin Sparks Police Response

The Austin Police Department is looking into the discovery of a body near a major business district in southwest Austin on Thursday morning. The corpse was discovered shortly before 9 a.m. outside the West Woods Shopping Center on Bee Caves Road, close to Old Walsh Tarlton.

According to KVUE, police arrived on the site after receiving an urgent welfare check call and discovered the deceased individual. Official sources have not published the person’s identity at this time, and law enforcement statements indicate that the matter is not being investigated as a homicide.

According to a second but related report from CBS Austin, officials rushed to the site at around 8:54 a.m., with the incident occurring in the parking lot of the Emler Swim School, located in the 3200 block of Bee Cave Road in the Rollingwood neighborhood.

APD Homicide Detectives were called in to process the area, but as of now, police maintain that the death is not being actively investigated as a homicide.

The circumstances surrounding the death are still being investigated, and the police are working to gather more information and will provide updates as the investigation continues.
