On August 27, Bloomington police arrested three persons on narcotics and weapons charges and confiscated 25 ounces of methamphetamine, 35 ounces of cocaine, more than 1,000 fentanyl tablets, and $25,000 cash.

Chloe K. Sullivan, 26, lives in the 3000 block of South Rogers Street and is accused of seven offenses, including abandonment of a dependent. Police allege she left her 4-year-old toddler alone in her apartment after packing her car with illegal substances and money.

She reportedly drove away before daybreak that morning, as police approached to serve a search warrant on her home and car.

“Chloe Sullivan knowingly and intentionally placed (the child) in danger by abandoning (the child) in a residence used to deal and possess cocaine and narcotic drugs,” according to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case. “Upon locating (the child), he was placed with Chloe’s mother by officers.”

According to the complaint, 700 grams of methamphetamine (approximately 25 ounces) and 750 grams of cocaine (26 ounces) were found inside her 2021 Chevrolet Malibu.

Police also discovered over 1,000 blue tablets branded M-30, which are counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl. A recent CDC research linked an increasing number of overdose deaths to M-30 tablets. Last year, the United States confiscated more than 115 million.

Sullivan was put into the Monroe County Jail at 7:05 p.m. on August 27 and remains there as of Thursday, September 5. Her bond is $50,000 surety and $500 cash, so she would have to pay $5,500 to be released. A bond-reduction hearing is scheduled for September 9. She has recruited attorney Joe Lozano to represent her.

Charles A. Morrison III, 30, of the 500 block of West Hays Court, was also arrested on August 27. He previously lived in Chicago. He faces charges of cocaine possession, unauthorized possession of a firearm by a major violent criminal, and marijuana possession.

According to court filings, officers searching Morrison’s residence discovered more than $11,000 in cash and two Glock handguns inside a locked safe. A bag on the living room floor included a Patron tequila box containing $2,758. Police seized a third Glock weapon and two ammunition magazines that were lying on a counter.

Morrison cannot own a gun due to a controlled substance selling conviction in Illinois in 2012, according to the affidavit. According to the investigating detective’s affidavit, Morrison admitted to consuming cocaine but denied selling drugs and said he did not know about the firearms recovered. He claimed he was unemployed but could not explain the $14,000 in his apartment.

Morrison secured a $1,500 cash bond to get out of jail the same day he was arrested. During his initial hearing, he was ruled to be impoverished, and a public defender was assigned to represent him.

Jimmie J. Riddle, 29, lives in the 1400 block of North Woodburn Avenue and was the third person detained that day. He is accused with dealing in narcotic drugs, dealing cocaine, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm by a significant violent criminal, possession of a narcotic substance, possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana.

He posted the $3,500 cash bond required to get released from jail the same day he was arrested. During his initial court appearance on August 30, he pled not guilty and stated that he would pay his lawyer to represent him.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers discovered two loaded Glock handguns, a bag containing psilocybin mushrooms, nine ounces of cocaine, five ounces of marijuana, and a huge baggie full of M-30, Xanax, and other pills in Riddle’s residence. They seized $4,784.

BPD According to Kevin Frank’s declaration, Riddle admitted to being unemployed and earning money by selling drugs. Riddle had a 2013 Illinois conviction for dealing in controlled narcotics, making it illegal for him to own a pistol.
