SLIDELL, La. – A guy was taken into custody by the Slidell Police Department for putting a covert camera in the toilet that is reserved for guests in his home.

A babysitter discovered a hidden camera in the home of Jonathan Bethancourt, who is 31 years old, last month. The camera was disguised as a smoke detector, according to the police information.

Upon discovering the camera, the babysitter brought it to the Slidell Police Department for further investigation. When authorities examined Bethancourt’s residence, they discovered additional evidence, including a hidden camera, as well as other findings. The Slidell Police Department claims that Bethancourt also had surveillance cameras installed at his property in Orange Beach, Alabama.

“There is no indication that Bethancourt placed cameras in other locations,” according to law enforcement.

There are eleven (11) counts of video voyeurism that have been brought against Bethancourt. On May 29, he was taken into custody and booked into the Slidell City Jail. In the following days, he was transferred to the St. Tammany Parish Jail, where he has since posted bond.

This study is currently being carried out. Due to the fact that the inquiry spans multiple states, the Slidell Police Department has stated that they are collaborating with federal and Alabama officials.
