On Friday, Southeast Georgia and the Lowcountry will see a return to cold temperatures. A stiff breeze and temperatures plummeting into the upper 20s to mid-30s will combine to provide the lowest feel-like temperatures this fall season.
A Cold Weather Advisory (previously a Wind Chill Advisory) is in place until 9 a.m. Friday for inland Southeast Georgia and the northern Lowcountry. Temperatures in the advisory area are expected to drop into the upper teens to mid-20s.
Here are the feels-like temps for the entire area at 7 a.m. on Friday. Before you leave the house, grab a warm coat. Cold temperatures will persist throughout the day, with highs in the mid-40s to low 50s.
By Saturday morning, all inland locations in Southeast Georgia and the Lowcountry are anticipated to freeze again. Check out the frigid projected temperatures to begin the day!
Make sure to cover any plants you have been sheltering during the recent cold spell. Please keep dogs warm at night. You may wish to drip water to prevent any uninsulated pipes from freezing.
By Sunday afternoon, milder weather will return to the area. Daytime temperatures will reach the 70s early to mid-next week! Warmer weather will also bring the possibility of showers and thunderstorms. The largest possibility of rain at this time is next Wednesday. We need rain in our location, so perhaps most of us will receive some next week.
