A WOMAN and 17-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED for ROBBERY, ASSAULT, and FORGERY in Columbia

A lady and a teenager were arrested after being accused of robbing three persons on Monday in the 2700 block of South Old 63, according to a Columbia Police Department press release issued Tuesday night.

Cz’Toia De Vose, 19, of Columbia, was arrested, and the juvenile’s name has not been published, although court documents indicate that the person is 17 years old. De Vose is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond.

De Vose was charged on Tuesday with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, and forgery. The court date has not been scheduled.

According to the probable cause statement, officers were summoned to Campus Lodge Apartments at 3 p.m. Monday after receiving a report of a robbery. The victim allegedly told police that they were assaulted during a robbery and sought treatment at University Hospital, according to the statement. Officers spoke with the victim in the hospital.

According to the statement, the victim sustained a broken nose and required stitches as a result of the assault.

According to the statement, the victim informed police that he went to Campus Lodge to sell drugs and that De Vose and the juvenile gave him bogus money. The victim allegedly informed police that one of the people pointed a gun at his chest, slapped him in the face with it, and stole his phone.

A witness allegedly informed police that they recognized two people at the sale and that the 17-year-old had a gun and pointed it at her and the victim, according to court filings.

However, police stated in the announcement that “one victim reported being struck by DeVose and was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.”

In another case, De Vose was charged with fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor in Boone County, and his court date was set for Tuesday.

Police stated in a press statement that she was also arrested on an out-of-county warrant. On May 23, a warrant was issued for her arrest in Cole County. According to court documents, she was charged with second-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.
