Truck drivers from AGA are considering boycotting New York City in solidarity with former president Donald Trump, following court rulings in his hometown holding him accountable for fraud and sexual abuse.
Speculation about cutting off supplies to the nation’s largest city started on Friday when a trucker and influencer named Chicago Ray vented his frustrations on social media. He mentioned speaking to 10 drivers who were unhappy about recent legal decisions that did not favor Trump.
“You mess around and you’ll see,” Chicago Ray stated. “We are fed up with those who oppose Trump.”
In a different post, the truck driver advised New Yorkers to begin stocking up… There are millions of truckers supporting Trump, millions of us… Stop bothering Trump.
Last Friday, a Manhattan judge ruled that the former president must pay $355 million due to questionable business practices involving manipulating property values to his advantage.
In the past month, a jury determined that Trump must pay writer E. Jean Carroll $83.3 million for defamation, as he persisted in making negative comments about the woman he was held accountable for sexually assaulting almost three decades ago.
Chicago Ray removed his original post after it gained widespread attention and slightly adjusted his statements on Monday.
“I’m not a figurehead here, I’m not a leader of any movement,” he said in a subsequent post. “I listen to conversations and inform you about what I’ve heard.”
Chicago Ray informed his 241,000 social media followers that he was not promoting any actions and stated that he deleted his initial post because it upset his grandson.
His thoughts gained momentum when they were shared widely on social and traditional media.
Conservatives Suggest NYC Delivery Halt
Conservative activists backed the notion of halting deliveries to New York City. Some people have raised doubts about the potential impact of a boycott, pointing out the abundance of supplies in citywide warehouses, multiple entry points into the city, and the likelihood of trucking companies not participating in an unorganized strike.
Chicago Ray is currently unavailable on X for instant messaging. He mentioned being in Wisconsin in one of his messages.
Trump is currently dealing with criminal charges in New York City, Washington, D.C., Georgia, and Florida, where he resides.
