Police have not been able to find the person who killed Kenisha Dixon for more than twenty years, but her family is determined to see justice done.
After getting lost and ending up on the “Cold Cases” page of the Houston Police Department’s website, I came across Kenisha’s story. Not much has been said about the investigation into this cold case, but Kenisha’s murder scene made it look like she may have lived in fear.
Reports say that at 11:10 a.m. on May 9, 2000, someone knocked on Kenisha’s door. The person on the other side of the doorway shot and killed her as soon as she opened the door to her home at 10003 Forum West #163.
A handgun was found near her body, which leads police to believe that Kenisha answered the door while holding it. This makes them think that she may have been scared for her safety. That person may have known her and killed her, but that is possible only.
Investigators Interrogate Kenisha’s Roommate
Someone called the police, but it’s not clear if anyone else was at the house when the incident happened. She was reportedly declared dead at the scene. A guy was living with Kenisha at the time of her death and was questioned by police.
He said that he owned the gun that was found next to her body, but it’s still not clear why Kenisha might have had it with her when she was killed. She didn’t have a boyfriend and had only been living in the room for a short time.
The Houston Police Department said, “Investigators were able to gather useful information while talking to people in the apartment complex and other places.”
Still, no suspects or people of interest have been named, at least not in public. It’s been frustrating trying to find news stories about Kenisha Dixon or updates on this case that began decades ago.

I could only find one photo and am currently looking for a way to indicate her age. Her personal life and relationships have not been disclosed, and attempts to locate anything on her on social media have proven futile.
