The California Faculty Association, which represents over 30,000 faculty members and other employees, is planning to start a work stoppage on Monday, and the California State University system is preparing for a five-day strike.

This tentative three-year contract agreement between the CSU and the union representing 1,100 skilled trade workers has not altered the CFA’s plans for the strike, which represents 29,000 professors, lecturers, librarians, counselors, and coaches throughout the 23 campuses of the CSU system.

On Monday, the strike is set to begin at 8 a.m. Picket lines are anticipated at all CSU campuses.

The largest public university system in the nation, the CSU, is ready for the walkout, according to a spokesman.

The university is putting a lot of effort into reducing disturbances for students, highlighting its dedication to offering a supportive learning environment.

The CFA and CSU administration are now negotiating and discussing matters like salary, working conditions, and total remuneration for faculty and staff, which is why the strike is occurring.

The choice to move on with the strike indicates that issues remain unaddressed despite new contract deals with other CSU system unions.
